“How was the Obama?”
“he he heee heeehh great I never knew you spoke farts. I mean facts so well”
We can change the world together, Obama tells UN
President targets global consensus on key issues as he ushers in new era of co-operation and warns anti-Americanism is 'no excuse' for failing to address international challenges
Ed. Are YOU well? You pin the flag after the speech?
ON HAPPINESS: Business owners are the happiest Americans, according to a recent survey. Those working in manufacturing are the least satisfied.
The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index found that business owners scored highest, with 72.5, in "overall well-being" in a poll of more than 100,000 Americans in 11 sectors. Professionals and managers/executives came in at No. 2 (71.5) and No. 3 (70.9).
People making up the three top-scoring occupations are also those with the highest household income, Gallup said. Business owners do make a bit less than professionals and managers/executives, but scored highest on a measure of job satisfaction and work environment.

DEATH DEATH DEATH BY MANY PILLS
Sep. 4th, 2009 | 03:54 am
From the tone, you expected the next reporter to say: "I think it's much more momentous than that, and feels like the Norman victory at the Battle of Hastings, or even the collapse of Roman civilisation into warring feudal tribes."
Then came the messages: "Judith from Luton has texted to say nothing matters any more so she's going to convert her Facebook page into a suicide cult. Well, Judith, I think we all feel that way and wish you the very best of luck with that project."
Then the newspapers started, with 63 pages devoted to pictures of painkillers and articles about the impact of "ABC" on linguistic theory, and agony aunts advising how to console an orphaned monkey. It seemed every bit of every paper had to be dedicated to him, so the chess puzzle would go "Today, in honour of Michael, the pawns are allowed to move one square backwards as long as they make it look like they're going forwards. And both players can be on the same side, as the black pieces are allowed to pretend they're white."
And the crossword would be full of clues like "Tennis queen who loses her King is not my lover. 6,4."
At one point on Friday evening, while in a bar in Runcorn, I noticed a huge TV screen was displaying tributes, and for a whole minute it told us: "Amanda Holden says 'I'm thinking of his family on this sad day'." Well that must have been a comfort to them. But presumably this kept going all day, so eventually it was displaying messages such as "Mick McCarthy, the manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, says, 'I'm absolutely gutted. I haven't felt this bad since I was relegated with Sunderland in the 2002-3 season. Rest in peace, Michael'."
And it's still going on. The front page of yesterday's Daily Mirror showed a picture of Michael, declaring that it was taken on the morning he died, and asking in huge letters "So what went wrong?" It certainly is a mystery, how anyone that dies in the evening can have been alive in the morning. Presumably, inside it carried on, "Our investigations have revealed that he may have been living RIGHT UP TO THE MOMENT HE DIED. But still the authorities have provided no explanation."
One music journalist on Radio 5 Live told us "he was the most influential pop musician ever," and on Radio Four we were told he was "more influential than any other soul artist, including James Brown". And this is where the madness springs from, because they seem to confuse record sales and celebrity status with influence. For example, James Brown's "influence" cannot be measured just in retail units, but from the impact of him yelling to people categorised as officially inferior, "Say it out loud, I'm black and I'm proud." Whereas Jackson's attitude towards his colour was slightly less forthright. Still, he could at least have made an effort and sang, "Say it's apparent, I'm almost transparent."
Michael Jackson aimed solely to make people dance, which is a fine aspiration, and he was himself a fantastic dancer. But while he provided a catchy soundtrack to the early 1980s, truly influential dance music has created more than a hypnotic beat, it has made its audience want to dance to express itself, finding pride in its colour, sexuality or youthfulness that is restricted in other areas of society and transform the world beyond the dancefloor,
Jackson, though, was tragically hollow, shich may be why his main influence was on combining music with new technology, firstly by transforming videos into mini-feature films, then by becoming the subject of the world's first globally mass-texted useless jokes.
So, as the media assured us the universe was in mourning, most of the planet's JFK moment will mean always remembering where you were when you read a contrived question that could arrive at the punchline "Don't blame it on the boogie".

THE BUDGET 2009
Apr. 22nd, 2009 | 08:39 pm
Jobless hits 2.1m as public debt soars to £90bn. A real HUGE hole.
Alistair Darling gambles to save economy
He insisted public finances would get back on track with a halving of borrowing within four years as the economy began to recover from the end of the year.
Chancellor has gambled on a rapid economic recovery to rebuild Britain's battered finances as he revealed this year's borrowing would hit a record £175 billion.
Well the way I see this is two folded
He is gambling with our money. He promised the turnaround would have been end of the 2009 or the 200. The promise now taken a new twist to four years. Therefore, the payback is in 2013 or 2014. Where is the turning of the economy in 2009 or 2010?

Writer's Block: The Green Generation
Apr. 22nd, 2009 | 02:47 pm
The earth seems to growing warmer and there is no end in sight. If we start exchanging gifs with the lights that use less power and more glow, we would save the earth. We out to plant at least three tree a month. That would account for about 40 a year. The five neighbours would total to 200 and more. Teach the children the importance of trees and growing these.

.European Union leaders decline to bail out Eastern Europe
The mystery deepens as the EU refuses the very ones that cerate the big EU. Sound like the phrase, “EAT in the plate you spit”. We talk of globalization and we want all to join hands in the global warming. This is all a joke and farce. No one is interested in any other economy then self. This is the proof. Then we complain of the demonstrations in the Economic Forums and ask, “Why are the B…….. demonstrating?

Gordon Brown visits Barack Obama to discuss the economic crisis, and other news
THE strength of the “special relationship” between Britain and America will be affirmed when Gordon Brown and Barack Obama meet in Washington, DC, on Tuesday March 3rd.
Anther Superb Tuesday. I look forward to this one rather then all the other as we will know comprehensively how Obama like UK and the policies after Bush and Blaire.
I will be fun to see the changes.
There is no news as see in the World economy as all are literally starving. Eve buffet has eaten the word he used to say. Berkshire Hathaway Inc (Warren Buffett's insurance and investment company, barely broke even in the fourth quarter because of losses on derivatives contracts tied to the stock market.
Is that we in yesteryears?

Former Royal Bank of Scotland boss Sir Fred Goodwin has written to the Treasury indicating he will not voluntarily give up his pension. Sir Fred is coming under increasing pressure to give up at least part of the pension, worth an estimated £693,000 a year, which he is already receiving at the age of 50 under an early retirement deal agreed with the RBS board when he was forced out last October.

Vaccines???
Feb. 26th, 2009 | 11:17 am
The problem with the Brits is this. When the vaccines are made these are tested on the cats, dogs, rabbits and Tom and Jerry. However, the animal lovers demonstrate, “My poor cats ought not to be used in the laboratory”. My rabbit and mouse, my apple of the eyes cannot go to moon” This is cruelty to the animals. Then we give out the vaccines there is another demonstration, “Why did you not test these before giving these out?” We are back to square number one. What is that, I have no idea? In poor countries, we simple sell these and make a profit. That is simple.
I thank you

Obama wows Congress but fine words fail to soothe markets
Wall Street slides 2 per cent, as traders want more specifics
Famous quotes like,”Ask not for the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country” are very old. We want the change and we got it. The super Tuesdays and no Wednesday or Fridays. The Obama has spoken of the bailout but he does not tell how he will increase the employments or where the money will be used. He wants to delay the Iraq withdrawal so he can keep the soldiers in Iraq. For what beats me?

It is too late 2010
Feb. 20th, 2009 | 02:18 pm
Everything will happen after the next election, which my colleague Steve Richards tells me will probably be in May 2010.
Hamish McRae: The chickens have come home to roost for our public finances. Don’t you think this is left for too late, as the chicken will be dead by then? I have my doubts that we will have the better economy in 2010. May be I give three years the way it is now.
I thank you.

Obama on the crash course to unfriendliness.
We wait for the second, an axe on the pay that would cripple industry if not slow down. Honest the bonuses are earned and not are not like the Valentine day cards sold in the shops.
The bill, which President Obama is expected to sign into law next week, limits bonuses for executives at all financial institutions receiving government funds to no more than a third of their annual compensation. The bonuses must be paid in company stock that can be redeemed only when the government investment has been repaid. With the measure, lawmakers seek to address public outrage over extravagant Wall Street paydays even as taxpayers bail out the industry.
We read the resignation of one ANOTHER day, another blow for Barack Obama's hopes for a “new politics”. On Thursday February 12th, Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire announced that he had withdrawn as Mr Obama's proposed secretary of commerce. Mr Gregg is a Republican—and one, to boot, who once voted for the Commerce Department to be abolished. Bringing him into the cabinet had been billed by the Obama team as an important sign of Mr Obama's commitment to government from the centre.
I thank you

Tim Geithner's plan on how to save America's banks lacks detail.
What a speech. What a speech , a very lengthy.
Sir
I heard Tim on the TV and he carried on for minutes after minutes about the pay until the TV Aljazeera reporter said he, “my words” is talking of the small things for now” we will come back when the real pay comes through. Honest. This was one speech I wanted to miss. It was very lengthy. We still have the ones who want the education and those who want more. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Reid's partner in negotiations over more than 24 intense hours, initially withheld her approval in a lingering disagreement over federal funding for school construction. "We had to make sure the investment in education" was in the bill, she said.
Obama, who has campaigned energetically for the legislation, welcomed the agreement in a written statement that said it would "save or create more than 3.5 million jobs and get our economy back on track."
The emerging legislation is at the core of Obama's economic recovery program.
He gets$790 billion
I thank you

The banks are to blame for this crisis
We the public denounce the bank’s working. We the public created the banks from the barter then we went further to divide the tasks into fragments and we the public entrusted the banks to keep our money safe. We are today Tuesday, February 10, 2009, state that we do not trust the banks. So please collect all your cash and hide these under the tress or the mattresses but please do not leave these with us. We are as fed up with you as you are fed with us. While the sailing was good, you wanted to sail with us, now that the waters have become a little choppy you rock a little and blame us for the entire economy and the depletion of fish and global warming too?

ALL ARE Equal IN UK
Feb. 9th, 2009 | 12:56 pm
ALL ARE Equal IN UK
I believe UK may be heading towards the policy Tanzania has. When Tanzania gained independence from UK in 1961 the President went one step further and called all the employees, “Right the country is our, the foods are ours and why do we have to separate ourselves. We are equal and we must the get the salary also equal. So. Here I have the doctor who serves the people and gets the money from the poor and rich and why he should have the income big. I declare all income a same. No one to get more salary .All get the same house rents and the income. Now we are looking at the guys who went West to look for better jobs. We need people. What a poor performer.
I thank you
